1 cup butter flavored Crisco

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp. vanilla (or almond) extract

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. soda

1 tsp. cream of tartar

2 cups flour

Mix, roll in balls, roll balls in sugar.  Bake 123-14 minutes at 350 degrees.

Variations - take a small pkg of Jell and add sugar to make 1 cup.

Cherry Jello - use cherry extract in place of vanilla.

Strawberry Jello - strawberry extract

Orange or Lemon Jello - orange or lemon rind
