Jerri
M. Kahl (University of Kansas, B.A., University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, M.S.E.)
is a licensed and
certified professional counselor. Her areas of interest include victim advocacy,
grief counseling, and crisis intervention. Through individual and group
counseling, her goal at Lawrence is to understand and support students in their
personal development. For the past five years she has coordinated the Peer
Education program and has worked with students to raise awareness about
sexual assault, alcohol use, depression, and diversity. The Peer Educators have
been instrumental in promoting National
Sexual Assault Awareness Week activities on campus. Recently Kahl and
several Lawrence students presented a multi-media
program at an international conference about sexual assault on college
campuses. Kahl is available to work with students’
practicum and internship experiences.
