Minutes from the January 12, 2006 meeting were approved.  Two student discussion sessions have been scheduled – discussion of the student activities floor will be Tuesday, January 24, and discussion of the student programming space will be Thursday, January 26.  Both events are at 7pm in the Coffeehouse and, although the sessions will be facilitated by Nathan, Peter and Paul, all committee members are invited to attend.  Nancy requested that she be informed of any other scheduled discussions so that the whole committee can be alerted to the schedule.

The agenda for Workshop #3 with Uihlein-Wilson and KSS was distributed and reviewed.

The rest of the meeting was devoted to a discussion with Steve Carlson and Del Wilson.  Steve reviewed the LEED certification process and explained to the committee the need to balance design of the building, LEED environmental considerations, and cost.  The design team is responsible for monitoring progress in securing the LEED points necessary to achieve a silver rating.  A LEED checklist with annotations and explanations is available on the website.

Del Wilson provided a brief overview of some of the recent changes that will be suggested at the upcoming workshop.  In particular, discussion about adding a Lower Level 3 for mechanical space is a new and well-received idea that will be explored with the entire planning group at the workshop.

There will be no meeting next week (January 26) due to the trustees meetings or the following week (February 2) because of the Uihlein-Wilson/KSS workshop.
