Attendance
Class participation is such an important part of Freshman Studies that regular attendance is vital. If you must miss a class for any reason, please let me know in advance. You can miss three classes without penalty, but each additional unexcused absence will reduce your final grade by one-third of a letter grade. Absences can be excused by Dean Gajewski or by Carol Saunders.

Attending the five lectures (9/27, 10/6, 10/18, 11/19, and 11/29) is essential. The following classtimes will begin with a discussion of the lecture, the main points offered and questions raised. Be there.

I will not accept late papers, but am happy to grant brief extensions--as long as you ask for them before the original deadline.
