PHIL410: Philosophy of Mind (S-course)

Works:

  • Problems in Mind: Readings in Contemporary Philosophy of Mind Jack S. Crumley II, ed.
  • The Philosopher's Dictionary by Robert Martin.

Requirements:

Students who pass this course will satisfy each of these requirements: two presentations, answers to “Crumley’s questions,” presentation critiques, and a final exam. Each paper-presentation has a possible value of 25 points, Crumley’s questions have a possible value of 20 points, and the final exam has a possible value of 30 points. (Note that the presentations are required. This course satisfies the GER speaking requirement and, therefore, the presentations are not optional. Note also that the course is structured around the presentations. Hence, a student whose presentation is late or deficient is letting everyone in the course down. If you think for any reason you will not be able to hold up your end of the bargain (to deliver high quality presentations at the scheduled times) please do not take this course.)
