1874 Culture club

Milwaukee Female College becomes a center of social and cultural life for Milwaukee when a series of art and science lectures are sponsored by Charles Farrar, principal of the college. During Farrar's administration, the word "Female" is dropped from the school's title.

1875 Stargazing

Hiram Barber presents Milwaukee College with its first telescope. William P. McLaren then gives the college funds for the construction of a fully equipped observatory.
